The Cost of Allergy Testing

How much you will need to pay out-of-pocket for your allergy testing varies, and depends on these 4 factors:

Your Insurance Annual Deductible

In summary, this is the amount you need to pay each year for medical services before your insurance coverage starts to contribute to the cost of an allergy test.

Your Insurance Plan's Co-Pay Amount

Depending on how much your insurance company expects you to pay at each doctor’s visit, you pay this amount each time you visit a doctor’s office.

Your Insurance Plan's Co-Insurance Amount

Think of co-insurance as the percentage of the total cost of medical services that your insurance company expects you to pay. Note that depending on your company, your co-insurance may still occur even though you have met your annual deductible in a given year.

In-Network Versus Out-Of-Network Providers

Doctors in our office may or may not be in-network with your insurance plan. Usually it can be beneficial to visit providers within your plan’s network if you want to apply your insurance benefits to the costs of allergy testing. And an additional note - some plans require referrals from a primary care physician.

Our Fees

Your bill includes fees for professional physician services as well as diagnostic tests (such as skin testing, lung function tests, and lab tests). These fees reflects the amount of time the doctor spends with you and the complexity of your medical condition. You are responsible for payment at the time of your visit. We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

Insurance Claims

As mentioned above, we can help you know if a co-pay is needed during your visit.  We will gladly file a claim with your insurance company. We will file the claim with your main insurance company, and also with any secondary or supplemental insurance plans you may have.

Even though you may have insurance coverage, please remember you responsible for your account. We participate with a large number of insurance companies. Feel free to call our office if you have any questions about insurance claims or plans.
